Instead, our priority is to teach you to drive well. With a personalised lesson plan, focussing on the areas you’d like to work on the most, we make sure you’re a safe, confident and happy driver – not just on your test day, but for life.

The driver training world moves quickly, as it should. New test requirements and skills emerge as driving requirements change and the roads get busier. Yet for many driving schools, the teaching methods remain the same.

At Active Driving School Kent, we focus on new ways of doing things. Our instructors are all DVSA approved, and have qualified using the new instructor training methods. This approach is based on your individual needs, not lesson plans. That means your instructor tailors each session to the skills you want to concentrate on, not what they’re told to teach.

Richard is our lead instructor. After passing the latest driving instructor exams and teaching hundreds of students to be safe on the roads, he quickly realised there was a gap in the market for a driving school that cared about its students, not its pass rates.

Richard heads up our team of driving instructors, who he’s personally chosen for their experience, ethos and expertise. Alongside Veronika, who takes care of enquiries, marketing and communications, you’ll be looked after by a family-run business who put their names on their cars with honesty and pride.
